About the Author

Hello there! If you’re new to The Smitten Written Kitten, welcome! My name is Carolyn, and I’m a 23-year-old actress, singer, dancer, amateur playwright, and blog artist. (I say “blog artist” because it sounds a bit better than the awkward term “blogger,” which sounds like an overweight and clumsy version of Frogger.) Here are the essentials:

1. I love dinosaurs, mostly raptors because I can do an impression of a raptor, and have done so in Times Square on numerous occasions, but I also enjoy your classic pterodactyl and brontosaurus. The Land Before Time is my favorite childhood movie. I played with plastic dinosaurs as a child instead of barbies.
2. I graduated from Ball State University with a bachelor of fine arts in Musical Theatre.
3. I’m sort of going through a quarter-life crisis where one second I’m thinking “DO SOMETHING WORTH WHILE TO FURTHER YOUR CAREER! YES! GOOD! YOU ACTUALLY DID A LOAD OF LAUNDRY!!!!” and the next I’m off eating entire boxes of mac n’ cheese directly out of the pot while watching Hercules…. It’s a day by day process.
4. UPDATE: Pea, my “new” betta fish, died. I don’t know why, it was actually really sad. I got a new one, his name is Gillyweed, and he didn’t die. Yay.
5. I work at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and it’s a day by day process as well.
6. Six is my favorite number. It’s the day of my birthday (Sept. 6th) and if you’re into numerology, it is also my life path number, as well as my personality number. 666? Forget Satan. It’s like a triple sign of awesome for me.
7. I recently graduated college in May, and literally have no idea what I want to do with my career, my life, or the degree I just earned. I’d like to be in movies. I’d like to blog for a living. I’d like to write many beautiful books that cause many people to laugh and cry and weep with artistic understanding and appreciation. I’d like to write funny super bowl commercials. I want to get married and have children and buy a pure bred shiba inu. I also want to be the original Meg in Hercules, The Musical. There is no such thing as Hercules, The Musical. I want to write Hercules, The Musical.
8. I’m a huge fan of Harry Potter, good music, funny smart girls, athletic smart guys, cardigans, pink and green together, kittens, wedding soup, pirates, thunder storms, running, poetry, stand up comedy, and barefoot moscato wine.

Everything else is more or less irrelevant.

Hey Carolyn, it was a pleasure meeting you this afternoon at “The Pub”. I have just spent the last 15 minutes reading some of your blogs before I head off to sleep. You have a very personable style of writing, and I appreciate your sense of cynicism. I enjoyed reading about the hundred dollar foot “incident”. You told the story well and it was like I was right there. Look forward to reading more interesting Carolyn Capers in the future. Best of luck with your writing, acting, movie star aspirations. Al. Hey Al! Sorry my reply is a bit late! I haven’t been blogging recently 😦 but I just got a new iPhone where I can blog from it so… Hopefully I’ll be posting more often. Thank you for reading! Yes, the foot incident is a story that my family and friends STILL give me crap about to this day haha that really is a story I will be telling my grandchildren! (When they’re teens, of course!)

Say Something About This... Or, you know, just something. In general. About anything.
